The Agents

Scene 16

As Declan was preparing to call the emergency line a patrol car pulled up.

Two officers approached him with guns out.

Officer 1
"Hands up where we can see it"

Declan obeyed.

Officer 2
"Lie on your belly, face down"

Declan followed the orders. One officer approached him and put handcuffs on. Meanwhile the other officer observed that there are two thugs lying down tied up and approached to grab them,

Officer 2
"What is going on here?"

Declan lifts his head and yells

Declan
"Officers please call an ambulance. This guy is still alive. Those thugs were trying to dump him alive"

Officer 1
"Why would someone Dump him alive?"

Officer 2 walked over and checked the guy, then he radioed the emergency dispatch.

Meanwhile Officer 1 helped Declan to stand up.

Declan
"Probably they though he is dead"

Surprisingly, the ambulance was there within a minute as if they started before the officer radioed in.

Officer 2

 "Well, that was fast"

EMS first responder

"We received a call 10 minutes ago. that was not fast" 

They started doing their job right away. Checked the pulse of the guy in the wrap. Put on Oxygen mask, checked his vitals and prepared to load him to the hospital.

As Declan was talking to the officers, another car pulled up and couple of decently dressed folks step down. Declan gets suspicious if they are even police officers or one of other government spy agencies

They approached officer 2. Officer 1 who was helping Declan to stand up, walked him towards the EMS. After that he joined walked over to the group of new agents and officer 1a1.

Moments later the new agents approached Declan.

Ross
"I am agent Ross, and this is Agent Risa. Double R's"

He chuckled for his own dry joke and extended his hand to Decla. Risa also extended his hand also.

Ross
“We are from FBI”.  Declan nod his head but doubtful

Declan
” Hello, pleasure to meet you both”

Ross (Southern accent)
"Why were you in this part of the town?" 

Declan
"I was taking a walk"

Risa (with surprise in voice)
"Do you walk these back roads at this area and in this time?  You must think that you have nothing to lose"

Declan smiled awkwardly. They looked at each other with no reaction in their faces.

Ross
"Anyhow. We like to thank you for saving one of us"

Declan was shocked by this new information

Declan
"You mean he is also a....FBI agent "

Rice
"Yes."

Declan got curious, felt something good inside and wanted to know more. But the agents are in a hurry

Ross
"Once again thanks, that is all we can do"

The agents started walking back
