The Why

<flash back over VO of Angar when he recites Al-Fatha at the end of previous chapter>>

Just after the bombing, Angar was mourning the loss of entire family, especially could not get over his daughter’s passing. He sits by the window looking up the hill where his home used to exist.

His friend approaches him to console, Touches his shoulder. Angar turns over.

“How are you feeling?”

Angar turns his back to the friend and look up the hill, “I am not sure I will ever feel anything good”

Friend also looks up the hill.

“What did the American’s say?”

Angar still looking at the hill “apologized “a bit of anger in his voice

“I hear they offered citizenship and compensation”

“hm…” Angar’s voice felt little normal, “Guys from caves also met me”

Friend gets worried “Angar.”

"Angar turns his head again to his friend, looks him into his eyes “Don’t worry. I am not with them” , Angar Keeps looking his eyes “Americans want me to pretend”

“Did you decide?”

Angar nods as in Yes

“What is it?”

“I agreed”

“I am really proud of you. Going against the religious beliefs”

Angar looks down to the ground and nods no

“Nothing in the religion stops me from helping Americans” “Quran does not say anything which is not in Thora or Old Testament. All are about the God, his jealously, avenge and also forgiveness” “This is not about the religion. It is all about human beings and their need to be in control. The fighters at ground don’t even know why they are fighting. So, someone has to break the cycle and insanity of these men. Allah the God gave me this opportunity to do so and I am taking it. l am hoping this will help to stop the war and we will be on our way to progress to the newer world”. While saying he directly looks at his friend.

“We will progress from these ancient meaningless customs and go back to glory days of science, prosperity and peaceful practice of religion”

A moment of silence amongst them.

Angar says to himself “Allahu Akbar”. HIs friend joins him in saying “Allahu Akbar”
