The emotions

While Declan was getting a reveal, back in Scranton Sara was worried and in police station. Janet and Sara both were sitting in front of an officer describing Angi’s disappearance.

“She was playing in the backyard. When we went to fetch her for dinner, we couldn’t find her” Janet was speaking on behalf of Sara, as Sara was still in shock

“Sorry to hear that mem, Did you bring her photo” officer comes straight to the point , a robotic response.

Sara hands over Angi’s photo to the police officer. She is very bold to be crying.

“We are living in Brooklyn. My husband was deployed to Afghanistan. He was worried he was being followed recently.” Sara continues “That is why Angi,,, My Daughter and myself came over here to stay with our parents”

The officer looks through his computers and finds that there was already a kidnapping attempt on Angi. It was marked red tapped and he was supposed to inform his superior about it.

“It seems there was an attempt to kidnap her before?”

Both Sara and Janet answer “ Yes officer”

“Why did you leave New York and come to Scranton?” as the officer asks Janet gets frustrated as Sara already answered it.

“For her safety, My father and his Army buddies were guarding. But we did not expect her to be kidnapped from inside the house” While saying so Sara gives a somewhat Angry look at Janet as if she blames her.

“Okay mems. Let me give you a print out which has compliant number. We will pursue this on high priority”, officer gets up fetch the print out.

After he gives the printout. He sends off Sara and Janet

He waits for them to walk out of the police station, he leaves his desk and goes to the Cheif’s room.

“Knock. Knock chief”

“You are already in Tim”

He shows the chief, Angie’s photo.

“This girl is kidnapped. There is a note in her file to report it to NRD in case she is missing”

“Okay I will take care”

Then Chief waits for Tim to leave the room and takes up his phone , makes a call.

<Screen play note: Other end only show the tight close up of NRD director, Lyon’s hand carrying the phone. Some property like wrist watch from earlier NRD director’s scene. Dialogues may change later or a single shot can be used again and again during entire conversation>

Chief “Lyon, Sara is kidnapped”

A brief silence in the other end, then Lyon speaks “I am aware. Stall it for 2 to 3 days”

Chief ”You are taking a huge gamble on this child’s life”

“I am aware” “We still don’t know the entire plan. We are only at the tip of this” “We need to arrest him and let him talk”

“Are you sure your plan works”

A pause from Lyon on the other end. “You are well aware there is always a risk. But we are close by and will be able to act quick”

Meanwhile, Janet and Sara in the car driving to their home <On road travel special effects only, may be subtle music. Sunsetting effect>

Sara breaks the silence “You were right Mom” a bit of sob in her voice.

Janet without taking her eyed off the road “What am I right about?”

“Declan” with a sigh

Janet goes silent.

“Aren’t you going to say something mom?”

“What you want me to say honey”

“that I should have left him years ago”

Janet goes silent again.

Sara keeps looking at Janet’s face. Janet turns and looks at Sara and again focuses on the road.

About 15 seconds of silence again, then Janet goes keeping her eyes on the road again

“I was wrong about him”

“What?” Sara was genuinely surprised. She even forgot about Angi for a second.

“You were right before. He is a good person. he needs your support…You are all he has. Now he needs all your support to get out of this situation. There are some women in our generation did not balance our career and life right. You are doing both. You are a wonder woman, You found a wonderful partner. He is worth the sacrifice”

Sara is spell bound. Janet extends her left hand out, holding the wheel on the right. Sara holds it with both of her hands. Both look at the road. Car continues to move.
