The session

Scene 6

Knock. Knock. That knocking brought Declan back to present world.

Dr. Shiela
“This is Dr. Shiela. May I come in?”

Declan sits up as a sign of respect

Declan
“Yes please Doc. I have been waiting for you”

Dr. Sheila enters the office with a smile on her face

Dr. Shiela
“Looks like you have started without me”.

A dry smile popped out of Declan. A bit of shy smile

Declan
“Just drifted away”

Dr. Shiela
“Sometime self-realization helps”.

She sat down in the chair next to the Sofa

Dr. Shiela
“But it may put me out of job”.

She smiled; I smiled in response as a formality. That was supposed to lighten my mood. But I am not feeling it. Her left profile and Declan’s full laid down body was visible. Declan’s face towards Dr. Shiela and side of Camera

Dr. Shiela
“So, what do you want to talk about Today.”

Declan
“It is always the same thing Doctor."
"I am sorry Doc. I am not sure these sessions are doing any good to me. I am doing it just for my wife. I am not sure any amount of therapy can take away my guilt. As my wife is paying for these sessions, I feel more guilty”

Dr. Shields
“It’s okay Declan. We will keep discussing. We will get a breakthrough soon”

Declan
“I have my doubts, Doctor. That day when I made my own decision based on heat pattern, I killed a whole family. Almost 40 people including Women and Children."

Reily takes heavy breaths. Doc allowed him time to recover. She knows he relives the horror far more than her liking.

Declan
"Only when I see them in heaven and get their forgiveness, I can feel better. Sometimes I get to think about the point of all these wars. Someone at the top of the chain wants to show off and somebody else pays the debt”

Dr. Shields
“Relax Mr. Declan. Everyone has a role to play in this lifetime. No one surely knows the purpose that God gave us. We pretend to know”.

Declan slipped out a dry smile again.
